City 2, Day 6

Today started out great, we slept in a bit, had some breakfast and went to the Academia to see Michelango's David. I should have known something was awry when they were our of yogurt Bianchi, Delia's favorite breakfast food. We went to the museum, were amazed by the art and statues and met some other nice Americans. We settled in for lunch at a cafe near the Duommo, had some bruschetta, panini's and .5l of wine, compliented by some aqua frizzante. All seemed well, then we turned the phone on.

We called Dave to get a few ideas of where to shop, eat,etc and saw that I had 5 voice mails on my phone. Everyone knows I'm here, that couldn't be a good sign! It wasn't. I had 4 voice mails from 3 different people about how they had our dog Katy in their front yard, their backyard, wandering around Le Prevance, and potentially going to the SPCA. Not what you want to hear when you are 6,000 miles away.

We decided we'd call "Grandma Carol" to let her know that we have some leads one our missing dog. You know the one that is kind of our surrogate child, who we were quite worried about. She was expectedly not pleased with out 5am phone call. Apparently Katy was back with her and had escaped twice in two days. At one point, a search party had been formed to find her. Damn dog! The only thing we can figure is she's trying to find us, she has never tried to get out, run away, or anything like that. Thankfully, she is back safe at Carol's. We are trying to come up with an alternative or a better way to secure her since it appears she's learned how to open the gate.

Anyway, she is safe. We are calm. Delia bought some yarn at Beatrice, we are here now on much better computers than yesterday! All is well in the world again. Thank you to the search party. We owe you!

Awwwwww, the truth is out. Yes, Katy the wonder dog escaped for the first time Tuesday night. Her loving Auntie lex rounded up a search crew of grandma carol, uncle nathan, auntie stephanie, briattany & jose and your's truly. The search lasted well over an hour. Katy the dog showed up on grandma's porch at around 9:45pm, muddy paws and all.

Are you going to go to that Mexican spot Tijuana? That has got to be more exciting than a yarn store.
