More from Rome

So it dawned on me I kind of mislabeld the last post. I think I crossed into day 2, left some stuff out of day 1,etc. Oh well, shoot me. I'm on limited sleep and lots of wine. Not like an alcoholic lots of wine, but everywhere you go there is wine.

On the first full day we were there, day 2 techincally we managed to find an Armenian Church. We weren't looking, but there it was. We considered going this morning prior to leaving Rome but we didn't have the time. The chruch was 2 blocks down from our hotel on the way to Barberini Square, kind of our central place of reference. It looks like it was just taken over and not originally built as an Armenian Church, but if you can read the sign in this picture you'll see that it is.

So I talked about the hop on, hop off tour and the Colleseum. The next major stop was the crypts and catacombs, which Delia is chronicalling. Which puts us at the Vatican. Our tour guide was actually a student of Christian Archeology at the Vatican University. She was great. The Vatican Museum is pretty amazing, there are tons of statues and painting. The tapestries are amazing! The Sistine Chapel is absolutely unlike anything else you'll ever see. More impressive however is St. Peter's Basillica! Wow, what an amazing collection of art work. I'm hoping that I can get those pictures to upload, this computer is killing me! The dome is huge, the alter is huge, everything is larger than life! The body of Pope John 23 is on display, that's kind of odd.

Sorry, pictures will have to come later.
